Raymond Hall was the two-storey building at my jr. high. It was fairly new at the time, and it looked and smelled like it; but instead of that being comforting, it just contributed to what was already a stifling atmosphere. The first time I saw George Tooker's "The Subway" I thought of Raymond Hall.
