While there is actually no date on this, I do seem to remember doing it in the same sitting as another charcoal drawing which does have that exact date. However, they're from different pads, so...it's a heartfelt guess.
I'd always liked charcoal and had fooled around with it in the past, but was inspired to really try something seriously in it when I saw the incredible work of Sibylle Rupert. (Incidentally, the song "The Last Ride", from "Night Circus", was named after an identically titled Rupert drawing.)
